The Superior Rooms have a queen size bed and a single bed to accommodate up to 3 adults, and an extra fold-down bed can be provided for an additional child of 10 years of age or less. Additionally infants (of 2 years or less) can also be accommodated in any of the rooms.

What is your policy on children?

There is no charge for infants of 2 years or less sharing a bed with their parents in any of the rooms (no meals are included). A nominal extra charge is made for children of 3 to 10 years of age staying with their parents in the Classic and Superior rooms. Children older than 10 years are priced as adults.

Are there activities for non-divers?

More than 50% of our guests don’t dive, and there are plenty of wonderful things to do if you don’t dive. Snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, dolphin watching, island hopping, peaceful beaches, caves, waterfalls, wild monkeys, tarsiers, fish feeding, historic and cultural sights, etc. Relaxing at our secluded private beach, taking a massage and sipping cocktails at the poolside are also firm favourites. For more information see our Activities page.

How many dives are included in the Diver's Packages?

2 or 3 dives per day are included in the dive packages, depending on which package you book. The daily diving programme is 2 morning dives, return to the resort for lunch, and an afternoon or night dive. Maximum number of dives per day is 3.

What is included in the diving price?

The rates for individual dives, and for dive packages, include guiding by a highly experienced local dive guide, compressed-air tanks, weights, transport (by boat or land) to and from the dive site, use of towels and refreshments. Rates do not include equipment rental or sanctuary fees, which apply at several dive sites.

What happens if I am unable to complete all my pre-booked dives?

If you have undertaken all the dives available during the period of your stay (2 dives each morning and 1 dive each afternoon) and bad weather or other operational problems prevent you doing the full number of dives you pre-booked then no charge will be made for the missed dives. In all other circumstances you will be charged for the number of dives which were pre-booked.

Can I substitute a Whale Shark Tour or other activities for pre-booked dives?

For guests who have booked a package including 3 dives per day, a Whale Shark Tour can be substituted for 1 full day’s diving. In other circumstances, a Whale Shark Tour will count towards 2 of your pre-booked dives and a credit of 2 times the prevailing diving rate will be given against the cost of the Whale Shark Tour. It is not possible to substitute other activities for pre-booked dives.

Are scuba diving lessons available?

Yes. Lessons and courses are available for complete beginners right up to dive master level. For more information see our PADI Courses page.

Will I definitely be able to dive if I don't pre-book my diving?

Our maximum group size is just 4 divers, so it is advisable to book your diving in advance if you want to enjoy diving in a very small group. If you do not book in advance, and we don’t have any more diving places available when you want to dive, we will arrange for you to dive with another local operator. None of our guests has ever been unable to dive due to lack of available places.

How do I book a whale shark tour?

Call or e-mail us and we will book you in for one of our fabulous whale shark tours. If you do not book in advance, we can almost always arrange a whale shark tour for the following day.

What are the chances of seeing whale sharks?

The whale shark season in Sogod Bay consistently starts around early November and, in a good season, runs through until the end of May, but the season can end much earlier without warning. Once they arrive in the bay the chances of seeing them on any particular day are very good, but sightings can never be guaranteed. For up-to-date information on whale shark tours and sightings send us an e-mail or see our Whale Shark News page.

How frequently do you run whale shark tours?

We run whale shark tours upon demand for a minimum of just 2 people.

Can I rent diving and snorkeling equipment?

Yes. We have full sets of diving equipment available to rent but please let us know in advance that you need rental equipment and tell us your sizes. Snorkeling equipment for adults is included with our whale shark and snorkeling tours. If you are particularly large or very small, please check in advance that your sizes are available, and it is advised to bring your own equipment for young children.

Are whale shark tours suitable for young children?

To be able to see the whale sharks well you need to be a competent swimmer and know how to snorkel. We have taken children as young as 5 who have had a wonderful time snorkeling with the whale sharks. Children younger than that will probably not get to see the whale sharks but will enjoy all the other activities that form part of the tour.
